          Mountain Wind Appaloosa Ranch is located in the Mid Willamette Valley of Oregon. On a front deck you can watch the peaceful start to the day as the sun rises over the Cascade Mountain Range or watch the sun sink into the Coast Range in late evening on the back deck. Inside of the house is a beautiful timber frame design with tongue and groove knotty pine throughout. The property consists of 20 acres with 13 replanted in timber for future investment. WE ARE HIGH AND DRY  Water is a well and there is also a spring for early irrigation of pasture. A 48 x 72 Indoor Riding Arena, and an 8 matted stall barn.  Arena has a tack room, hay and sawdust space. The town of Falls City itself has a grand history  and today has a store, some small business, several places to eat and 3 parks along with a fourth of July fireworks that revels many larger displays, and you can sit on the front deck and watch it and the following night see Salem and Dallas's also.

The climate in this part of the Willamette Valley is temperate, summers are 75 to 85 most of the time with a breeze and winters temperatures range between 25 and 45 . It is rainy but that is why we are  green and is why you have an indoor arena, we do get some snow ( last year we had none and the year before we had 32 inches at Christmas) .  If you like the snow you can get in the truck and drive into the mountains behind you or head to Mt Hood to ski 1 1/2 hours away. Compared to some we are a easy commute to 4 major cities by  I-5 to Portland, Springfield, Eugene, Salem and coastal cities.  Salem is 30 minutes away, West Portland is 1 hour,  Portland and PDX airport are 1:30.
